Mitchell Moore was named head football coach in 2021. Coach Moore is just the fifth Little Hawk head football coach since 1947. He is also the head athletics strength and conditioning coach at City High.
Coach McKim was named offensive coordinator at City High in 2021. In his two seasons, the Little Hawks have consistently been among the top statistical producers in total offense and scoring in Class 5A and made back-to-back playoff appearances.
Coach Slife has been an offensive assistant since 2021. He leads the development of City High’s quarterbacks, plays a vital role directing practices and helps formulate the Little Hawk playbook. Slife’s coaching experience in the state of Iowa is wide ranging.
Coach Walker is the defensive line coach at City High. Entering his third season with the Little Hawks, Walker is a relationship builder who teaches both the fundamentals and intangibles needed to the line of scrimmage.
Coach Casey enters his 38th season at City High. Casey has helped guide the Little Hawks to four State Titles and three runner-up finishes. A longtime math teacher, Casey goes above and beyond in all things for his students.
Coach Eads is the special teams coordinator and secondary coach at City High. Entering his third season with the Little Hawks, Eads is an Iowa City West graduate who now uses his many talents for good.
Coach Hanrahan enters his 13th season coaching Iowa high school football. Eleven of those seasons have been at City High, where he currently leads the tight ends room. Hanrahan is an Iowa City Regina alumnus.
Coach Stalkfleet got his coaching start in 2022 with the Little Hawks. Stalkfleet is a City High alumnus. He earned all-state honors in 2021 as an offensive lineman and helped send City back to the UNI-Dome. Now, he develops the next group of leaders up front.
Coach Schultz started coaching at City High in 2019, where he currently develops linebackers. Schultz has coached the Little Hawk defense each season, which has produced five all-state players over the past two years. He is also the wrestling freshman team head coach.
Assistant coach Greg Brown is City High to the core. An alumnus of The School That Leads, he is one of the longest-serving coaches on the City High staff. Coach Brown has served the Little Hawk program in numerous capacities over the years and brings a wealth of football knowledge.
Coach Nikolai Hill helps develop the City High defensive backfield. Hill joined the Little Hawk program in 2022, helping guide City High to a second consecutive playoff appearance. His passion for the game is apparent, as is his desire to be a positive force in the lives of his players.
